Bar André

They allow dogs. We had a nice dinner with 3 different types of fish and the risotto and all tasted great. The desserts and wine recommendations were also really nice. We had. Great time here.

Amazing place with so many different rooms and atmospheres. The food is SO good, it will just make you happy! I ordered a seafood platter and I am not a big fan of the "bulots" (BIG sea snails), but these were the most delicious I have ever tasted. If you take a trip to La Rochelle the magnificent, you have to pair it with a food break at Bar André!

Very nice address in la Rochelle I discovered through my cousin, oysters were fresh and tasty, and the moules a la charenraise delicious. I recommend you ask to be on the port side, the view is better.

I reserved a table for 4 for lunch well in advance. I was excited to dine outside with a spectacular view. It was a hot day, so we chose a shaded table towards the back of the covered patio, so a view wasn't really possible, which was totally fine and a trade-off I was absolutely happy about. The tables/chairs are a bit spindly, so take care when sitting. The hot day called for an Aperol spritz, which was spectacular. We shared several dishes, all seafood platters. Everything was fresh and delicious. We particularly loved the prawns and crab legs. We did visit the interior and it was so beautiful and cozy, it would be the perfect spot on a colder day. Service was friendly enough, though somewhat difficult to get attention for additional water. Overall, highly recommend!

Exceptional sea food in a slightly dated restaurant with poor service. We ate here on a Thursday night in October, it was quiet but the staff still managed to ignore us and forget parts of the order.

Superb seafood in La Rochelle. Enjoyed the selection of oysters, the chunky Gillardaeu in particular. The classic mussels mariniere and charantaise mussels mouclade with curry sauce were both great, generous portion with fries on the side. Recommend the hake with chorizo and a side of the delicious mashed potatoes with beurre noisette. Nice wines and friendly service.

We came to Bar André at the recommendation of some people we highly trust. We were not disappointed. Even though we arrived early for our reservation, we were treated promptly and kindly. Our French was a bit slow, but the wait staff was patient and allowed us to continue in French, even if switching to English would have been faster We ordered the Royal André and ate some things we had never seen before. It was a grand experience. We had three different people serve us, but the only one whose name I can remember is Michael. All three of them were great!
